History of the Institution
Bavisgam B.Ed. College, in Vallabh Vidyanagar is run by the “Bavis Gam Education Trust”, situated in Vidyanagar and is affiliated to S. P. University V. V. Nagar, in the ancient area of Charotar with in Anand district of Gujarat State.
The aim of starting this college was with the focus to provide well-trained teachers to teach at various levels in both the urban and rural surrounding areas.
Bavis Gam Education Trust was established in the year 1994. Since then, the members of the Education Trust have made tireless efforts to increase educational activities in V.V,Nagar and its surrounding villages.
Bavis Gam Vidyalaya was started in June 1993, during this phase, one found it difficult in recruitment of well-qualified and skillfully trained teachers for the school, as there were no Teacher’s Education colleges from where resourceful candidates could be hired.
Bavis Gam Education Trust, Vallabh Vidyanagar took the initiative to start a college to train teachers in Education for procuring skill and training through B.Ed. degree.
Permission from NCTE Western Regional Committee was taken and the college affiliation was taken with “SNDT WOMENS UNIVERSTY, MUMBAI”. Thus in the year 2009,BavisgamB.Ed. college had commenced by providing training to female candidates who were interested to take up teaching as a profession. Later in the year 2012,the college was affiliated to “S.P.University, Anand” and Co-Education was started. The purpose of this college was to provide well-trained teachers both males and females to educational institutes. The college comprises with well-equipped class rooms, laboratories and fully furnished modern building.
